I'm a Mac Girl

Last week, my laptop died.  I knew it was nearing its death, as in the past months I couldn't even turn it on without getting 43 error messages and warnings that there was no free space left on the poor machine.  My anti-virus software was no longer running correctly, which consequently screwed up every program I tried to open.  I wasn't able to upload pictures from my camera, watch videos on You Tube, peruse photos on Facebook or even move files onto my new external drive.  Mark tried to fix the problem by deleting the Norton software from every nook and cranny of my hard drive that he could find it in, which resulted in completely killing the laptop.  After almost seven years of service to me, the machine would no longer start.

The good news is that my laptop's death coincided perfectly with the government depositing a hefty amount of cash into my checking account.  Hooray for tax refunds!  So I did some research last week on new computers, and today I headed out to the Apple store and bought me a brand spanking new Macbook!  I've been a Mac Girl for a mere ten hours now, and I can already tell I'm never going back to PC's!

The best part about this clever little laptop is that all I had to do was take it out of the box and it was able to detect some wireless Internet signal that I am now stealing from an unknowing neighbor.  I am no longer confined by the constraints of my Ethernet cord, so this blog is coming straight to you from.... my bed!

Oh, and thanks to my job at a school, I was even able to save $166 when I bought the MacBook, thanks to Apple's educator's discount.  Thank you to my Toshiba laptop from 2001.  Thank you for dying and forcing me to make the move to Mac.

PS.  In case you were wondering what I did this weekend -- I went to a wedding... again!

Another Weekend, Another Wedding

Mark's co-worker tied the knot last Saturday. This was actually the first wedding that we've been to together where we sat next to each other during the ceremony. For once, one of us wasnt' in the wedding. It was weird. I felt like I should have been up there, holding some flowers or something.

Lists

There are some important things to note today. Since I am at work with plenty to do, I am just going to list them out. Enjoy.

1. It snowed twice last week. This week, the predicted high is 89 degrees. Gotta love Texas weather!

2. I went to a wedding on Saturday night with Mark and some of his coworkers. His boss was there sans his wife, so he took the opportunity to drink a lot and ask everyone awkward questions. While a Brad Paisley song was playing, he asked me and Mark if this was going to be our song at our wedding. I just rolled with the punches and told him no, it wouldn't be. He then started referring to Mark as my fiance for the rest of the night and tried to get everyone at our table to place bets on who would get engaged first - Mark or another guy they work with. Meghan, another one of their co-workers who was sitting at our table then informed me they already had a pool going at their office for this very bet.

3. Morgan is coming to Dallas this weekend for St. Patrick's Day and some girlfriend catch up time. It promises to be an eventful weekend. Here's what happned last time she came in town:
