I'm a Mac Girl

Last week, my laptop died.  I knew it was nearing its death, as in the past months I couldn't even turn it on without getting 43 error messages and warnings that there was no free space left on the poor machine.  My anti-virus software was no longer running correctly, which consequently screwed up every program I tried to open.  I wasn't able to upload pictures from my camera, watch videos on You Tube, peruse photos on Facebook or even move files onto my new external drive.  Mark tried to fix the problem by deleting the Norton software from every nook and cranny of my hard drive that he could find it in, which resulted in completely killing the laptop.  After almost seven years of service to me, the machine would no longer start.

The good news is that my laptop's death coincided perfectly with the government depositing a hefty amount of cash into my checking account.  Hooray for tax refunds!  So I did some research last week on new computers, and today I headed out to the Apple store and bought me a brand spanking new Macbook!  I've been a Mac Girl for a mere ten hours now, and I can already tell I'm never going back to PC's!

The best part about this clever little laptop is that all I had to do was take it out of the box and it was able to detect some wireless Internet signal that I am now stealing from an unknowing neighbor.  I am no longer confined by the constraints of my Ethernet cord, so this blog is coming straight to you from.... my bed!

Oh, and thanks to my job at a school, I was even able to save $166 when I bought the MacBook, thanks to Apple's educator's discount.  Thank you to my Toshiba laptop from 2001.  Thank you for dying and forcing me to make the move to Mac.

PS.  In case you were wondering what I did this weekend -- I went to a wedding... again!
